Summary: | Production of ethylene polymers comprises catalytic polymerization or copolymerization of ethylene with one or more lower olefins. Process comprises polymerization or copolymerization of ethylene with one or more 3-8C olefins, in contact with chromium-based catalyst, deposited on silica support and subjected, in sequence, to the thermal treatment in nitrogen (preferably for 10 minutes to 20 hours) at temperature from above 350 degrees C to below 850 degrees C, followed by thermal treatment in air (preferably for 5 minutes to 6 hours) at above 350 degrees C to below 800 degrees C, before being brought into contact with ethylene and optionally one or more olefins under conditions of polymerization, to produce ethylene polymer. |
