Summary:Continuously producing a thermally insulating mixture comprising silicic acid particles and opacifier particles, comprises introducing a premixed flow comprising a carrier gas, the silicic acid particle and the opacifier particles into a fine impact mill, grounding and mixing the premixed flow, and then separating a solid from the gas flow. Independent claims are included for: (1) a powdered mixture for thermal insulation obtained by the method; and (2) a powder-fiber mixture comprising the powdered mixture, and 2-10 wt.% of fibers.
