Summary: | The sheet-metal impeller may be applied in motor vehicle coolant pumps or in pumps of household utensils. The aim of the invention is to improve the cooling and rinsing of the face seal at the back of the impeller. The impeller consists of a plate with circulation slits 5, a stabilization curl 4, a hub 3, blades 7 and flanks 10. The hub is formed with a collar 12 and blades 14 at the back of the impeller. A circulation space 16 is thereby created out of which cooling and rinsing is possible. In an alternative embodiment (Figs 3 and 4) the bladed portion and hub portion comprising the collar (12) and blades (14), are formed as separate pieces. The blades 14) may also be formed on a part separate from the hub portion. |
