An independent claim is included for preparation of (I). ACTIVITY : Antirheumatic; antiarthritic; antiasthmatic; antiinflammatory; neuroprotective. MECHANISM OF ACTION : (I) inhibit the binding of vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 (VCAM1) and fibronectin to the integrin VLA-4 (not defined) on circulating lymphocytes, eosinophils, basophils and monocytes.
