Summary:A food processing device e.g. salad spinner (10) has a housing (100) with a lid (110), a basket (200) supported in the housing (100) for rotation, and a drive mechanism (300) supported by the lid (110) for rotating the basket (200) to spin off water from salad in the housing (100). The drive mechanism (300) has a crank handle (310) and a drive transmission system provided between the handle (310) and the basket (200) to transmit rotational drive from the handle (310) to rotate the basket (200). The drive transmission system has a first rotary gear (320) arranged to receive drive from the handle (310) and a second rotary gear (330) in drive engagement with the first gear (320) for receiving drive from the first gear (320) to rotate the basket (200). The first and second gears (320 & 330) have corresponding serial formations e.g. recesses (321) and protrusions (331) of respective round cross-sections that are inter-engageable one in the other for drive transmission.
