The present invention relates to new carbazates of the general formula (I), (I) wherein A is C3-10 alkyl, C3-10 alkenyl, C2-10 haloalkyl, trifluoromethyl, phenyl-C1-3alkyl, phenyl-C2-3-alkenyl, naphthyl-C1-3alkyl; phenyl optionally substituted by one or more identical or different substituent(s) selected from C1-4 alkyl, halogen, C1-4 alkoxy and hydroxy; C3-7 cycloalkyl-C1-3alkyl; optionally nitro-substituted furyl; diphenyl-hydroxy-methyl or indazolyl optionally substituted by one or more C1-4 alkoxy group(s) and R represents C1-4 alkyl, with the proviso that if R stands for ethyl, A is other than tertiary butyl, and acid addition salts thereof, a process for the preparation thereof and feed-additives comprising the same. The compounds of the general formula (I) may be used in animal husbandry due to their weight-gain increasing and fodder utilization improving effect.
