A rectangular metal window sash is constructed from lengths of metal structural section 2, Fig. 3, having inner and outer channel forms 3, 4 the sections 2 being connected at the corners by non-removable right-angled connectors 5 by insertion of the legs thereof into the space 16 formed by flanges 15 in the outer channel 4 said flanges 15 having inturned tongues 21, Fig. 12, received in notches 20 of the connectors 5 and by metal right-angled glazing bead spring members 7 located at the inner corners of the frame having legs 8 sprung into the outer of two sub-channels 3, metal glazing head strips 9 extending between the corner members 7 having their legs 8 sprung into the outer sub-channel 3, and the glazing being accommodated in the inner sub-channel. Each upstanding leg of the connectors 5 at the lower corners of the sash has integral therewith a spring balance foot adjustment member 22 Figs. 3 and 12 with inverted L-shaped slots 23, Fig. 3, in its opposite flanges to receive and locate the transverse locking pin 24 of the spiral rod 25 The lower transverse of the upper sash has a hand grip 29, Fig. 15, as an extension of a base plate 30 with a tongue plate 31 extending therefrom to be inserted between the projecting flanges 15. The upper side of the lower sash has a hand grip 33, Fig. 15, which closes the outer channel form of the section this latter having a groove for a weather excluder strip 32.
