Summary:937,794. Toys. CRESCENT TOY CO. Ltd. Feb. 12, 1962 [Jan. 6, 1961], No. 669/61. Class 132 (3). A cap firing toy pistol comprises a rotary cylinder 5 for housing dummy bullets and forming part of a barrel section 3 which is pivoted to allow the pistol to open with a breech type action and a mechanism for firing caps from a roll comprising a magazine 16 for the roll of caps which is enclosed by two sides forming part of the casing of the pistol and is mounted on an arm 17 pivoted about the same axis as the barrel section to which it is connected with lost motion so that on release of a catch 7 the barrel section may be pivoted to expose the head of the cylinder, and then upon release of a latch, a stop member 25, acting on the magazine may be pivoted further to carry the magazine with it and thus permit insertion of a roll of caps. The catch member 7 engages a pin 8 on the barrel section and forms part of a pivoted lever 9 which is controlled by a thumb-piece 10 which, when pressed, frees the barrel section which pivots forwardly. A shoulder 30 on the barrel section engages a projection 31 on the end portion 17 of the magazine, the hammer is withdrawn, the trigger pressed or the barrel pressed downwardly to free a projection 22 on the magazine from the stop member 25 on the hammer 26 to free the magazine and allow the magazine and barrel section to pivot together. The magazine has a spindle 18 for a roll of caps and is closed at the front by a plate 19 and at the back by a guide surface, over which the strip of caps passes. An extension 15 of the cylinder encloses the magazine.
