Summary: | 903,442. Collar stiffeners. JERSEY TEXTILES Ltd. Nov. 13, 1958 [Nov. 29, 1957], No. 37256/57. Class 141. A collar stiffener consists of a strip of resilient material having one or more longitudinal ribs 3 on one face, the ribs being formed by pressing or stamping so that a groove 2 is formed in the opposite face. The cross-section of each rib may be of U- or V-shape or square and may vary along the length of the rib. A straight stiffener may have a single rib, two parallel ribs, or two aligned ribs. In a modification, Fig. 8, an angled stiffener has a rib in each limb, the two ribs being either separate or continuous. The stiffener is made of a polyester film and is incorporated in a collar so that the groove is directed towards the front facing of the collar. |
