Summary:729,915. Grease guns. TECALEMIT, Ltd. Aug. 29, 1952 [Aug. 30, 1951], No. 20535/51. Class 102 (1). A grease gun comprises a container 1 within which slides a piston 3 having an extension 3b which forms a guide for a cylinder 12 which is attached to a discharge tube 9 guided in an opening 11 at the end of the container or in a cap screwed on the container. The cylinder 12 has a head 12a that slides in the extension 3b, a sealing ring 14 being provided. The piston 3 has a detachable head 6, as described in Specification 621,173, which carries a plunger 8 ; the piston 3 is loaded by a spring 20. When pressure is applied to the container 1, the plunger enters the cylinder 12, cuts off the inlet ports 16, and discharges substantially all the grease in the cylinder 12 through the non- return valve 18. On the return stroke, the head 12a draws grease through the openings 7 into the extension 3b to assist in filling the cylinder 12 when the inlet ports are opened by the plunger 8. The head 6 may be replaced by a perforated plate that carries the plunger and enters a groove in the piston 3 and is retained in position by pressing over the edge of the piston.
