Class 142(2) In a bobbin or shuttle changing loom, a known knotting or connecting device 5 ties, twists, glues or fuses together the end 14 of an exhausted bobbin and the end 2 of a replacement bobbin and holds in tension and cuts off the unwanted ends. The device 5, which may be as described in Specifications 276,258, [Class 112], or 376,918, is moved by members 6-8 to extend through a gap 12 in the cheek 11 of the shuttle box and into a recess 4 in the front wall of the shuttle to engage the wefts 2, 14. Movement of the device 5 is initiated by, and is in timed relationship with, the weft - replenishing mechanism. |
