Summary:A work apparatus (1 figure 1) has a tool (9 figure 1) which can be driven in a rotating manner around a rotational axis 11 and a protective hood 10 which extends over at least a part of the periphery of the tool (9 figure 1) and is attached to a housing part 12 of the work apparatus (1 figure 1). The work apparatus (1 figure 1) has at least two rotation-locks 36, 37, 38, 57, 58 for the protective hood 10 which are arranged in different angular positions around the rotational axis 11. Each rotation-lock 36, 37, 38, 57, 58 is formed by a protruding section 24 on one of the protective hood 10 or the housing part 12 which cooperates with a section of the other of the protective hood 10 or the housing part 12 and secures the protective hood 10 on the housing part 12 in a positive-locking manner against rotation around the rotational axis 11, so that the protective hood 10 is prevented from moving with respect to the housing part around the rotational axis 11. The protective hood 10 may attached to the housing part 12 by at least one fastening element 13, 14, 15. First and second edges 22, 27 formed on the protective hood 10 and the housing part 12, at least one of which is a non-circular edge, may engage with one another to secure the protective hood 10 on the housing part 12 in a positive-locking manner against rotation around the rotational axis 11
