Summary:A network environment 440 is to be controlled by business operations using intents 405 which specify targets for network behaviour/performance without specifying how they are to be achieved. Intent handler takes the intents and turns them into action which achieve the targets and observations which measure if intent targets are met. The intent handler includes a knowledge management apparatus/methods (see Fig. 3). The knowledge management includes a graph generator 412 and manager 414 which create, update and remove graphs that meet intent targets, possibly using graph templates. The knowledge management also includes a knowledge lifecycle manager 410 which processes the intents and observations. The system may use data grounding agents which filter/optimise observation and measurement data into that useful for the knowledge graphs. The invention is intended to better manage data and knowledge.
