Summary:A process and plant for the microbial production of hydrogen from the site of hydrocarbonaceous deposit, the process comprising modifying the composition of the deposit through the introduction into or into the vicinity of the deposit of at least one hydrogen producing microorganism, wherein the at least one hydrogen producing microorganism is provided on site by means of a transportable microbiological incubator, the plant comprising means in the form of a transportable microbiological incubator for generating at least one hydrogen producing microorganism; and means for supplying the at least one at least one hydrogen producing microorganism into the hydrocarbonaceous deposit.
