One or more termination configurations are sent to a user equipment, the one or more termination configurations having one or more termination conditions which are associated with the termination of performance of one or more measurements at the user equipment, UE. Another aspect of the invention provides the UE receiving, from an access node, the one or more termination configurations, the one or more termination configurations comprising the one or more termination conditions associated with the termination of performance of one or more measurements. The UE starts performing the one or more measurements according to a first measurement configuration, then determining, based on the one or more measurements, that at least one termination condition associated with the first measurement configuration is satisfied and terminating performance of the one or more measurements according to the first measurement configuration based on the determining. Responsive to terminating performance of the one or more measurements according to the first measurement configuration, the UE may start performing one or more measurements according to a second measurement configuration, the second measurement configuration having a next highest priority after the first measurement configuration. The measurements may be related to Early Measurement Reporting, EMR.
