Summary: | A method of missions control of a hybrid vehicle comprising an instruction to switch from a combustion engine power mode of the hybrid vehicle to an electric power mode of the hybrid vehicle 502. A temperature of a catalyst associated with a combustion engine of the hybrid vehicle is identified 504, where exhaust gases from the combustion engine are passed over the catalyst. If the temperature of the catalyst is at, or above, a threshold level 506, the hybrid vehicle is switched to the electric power mode 508 and the combustion engine is switched off 510. If the temperature of the catalyst is below the threshold level 512, the hybrid vehicle is switched to the electric power mode, and the catalyst temperature is maintained at, or above, the threshold level 514. The catalyst may have an electrical means of heating and may be in a heating jacket. Cabin temperature, battery status and if the vehicle is currently in a low emissions zone can all be used as parameters for activation of catalyst heating control. |
