Summary:A dock 4000 for a vacuum cleaner comprising a cleaner head 3000, the cleaner head comprising a main housing and a neck portion (3004, fig. 38) extending from the main housing; the dock comprising: a first abutment portion configured to, when the cleaner head is located in the dock, abut the main housing of the cleaner head, and a second abutment portion (4032, fig. 44) configured to, when the cleaner head is located in the dock, abut the neck portion of the cleaner head. The second abutment portion may comprise a magnetic arrangement (4022, fig. 42), the magnet arrangement configured to interact with the neck portion to retain the cleaner head in the dock. The second abutment portion may also comprise a charging connector (3032, fig. 40) to connect with the cleaner head for charging the vacuum cleaner when the cleaner head is located in the dock. The charging connector may comprise two charging terminals. The abutment portion may be shaped to receive the neck portion and to restrict movement of the neck portion in two or more perpendicular directions, when the cleaner head is located in the dock.
