Summary:A method 1100 for controlling an active suspension system of a vehicle is provided. The control method 1100 comprising: determining whether a transient suspension disturbance is associated with mechanical resonance 1102; and controlling a variable for parameter of the active vehicle suspension to change a natural frequency associated with the active vehicle suspension 1104 when the determination is that the transient suspension disturbance is associated with mechanical resonance, and not controlling the variable force parameter to change the natural frequency 1106 when the determination is not that the transient suspension disturbance is associated with mechanical resonance. A corresponding control system is also disclosed.
