Summary:An electroluminescent display device includes: a substrate 111 having an active area AA and a non-active area NA; an oxide thin film transistor 120a disposed on the substrate 111; an inorganic layer 115d disposed on the oxide thin film transistor 120a; an organic layer 115e disposed on the inorganic layer 115d; at least one hole H2 disposed in the organic layer 115e of the non-active area NA; a hydrogen blocking layer 160 disposed on the organic layer 115e and an inner surface of the hole H2; and a light emitting element 140 disposed on the organic layer 115e and including an anode 141, a light emitting unit 142, and a cathode 143. Also disclosed is a similar electroluminescent display where there may not be a hole in the organic layer 115e and that there is an encapsulation layer 150 over the light emitting element 140. The hydrogen blocking layer may include any one of: Titanium, Scandium, Vanadium, Manganese, Iron, Palladium, Niobium, Zirconium, Yttrium, Tantalum, Cerium, Lanthanum, Samarium, and Uranium.
