More Information
Summary:A power tool assembly comprises a portable power tool 100 and at least one first auxiliary part 108 such as a battery or a dust extractor connected thereto. A lanyard 200 is mounted on the power tool and the first auxiliary part to hold them functionally connected if the power tool assembly is dropped. The lanyard comprises at least one belt (200, fig. 1A). A second lanyard (202, fig.1A) may also be provided. The second lanyard can be used to hold a second auxiliary part 114 (e.g. a dust box) functionally connected to a first auxiliary part 108 (e.g. a dust extractor). A further invention relates to a lanyard having two connectors 210, 204 and a lock to prevent them from being disengaged. The buckle 210 is passed through the loop 204 and rotated to lie in the same plane, frictionally trapping the strap between them. A locking strap (222, fig. 5A) is attached to a belt loop (220, fig.5a) to maintain the buckle in the flat orientation so that it cannot be twisted and thus disengaged from the loop.
