Summary:A power generation system 100 has a plurality of diode rectifier circuits 110, 112, 114, 116 to achieve a constant narrow range DC voltage. The system comprises at least one variable speed, multi-phased generator 102, 104 configured to generate an alternating current (AC) voltage. A plurality of diode rectifier circuits coupled to the at least one generator are configured to convert the AC voltage to a direct current (DC) voltage. A plurality of high-power DC contractors 1-11 is connected to the plurality of diode rectifier circuits to configure outputs of the plurality of diode rectifier circuits in one of a parallel, series, and/or mixed parallel and series configuration. A controller coupled to the plurality of diode rectifier circuits and is configured to reconfigure the plurality of high-power DC contractors based on a control parameter of the at least one multi-phased generator. The power generation system may be implemented in a vehicle.
