Summary:A parallel processing system comprising: a plurality of processors configured for parallel operation, wherein the processors are associated with autonomous driving of a vehicle; state monitoring circuitry 104 coupled to the processors 102A-202N, the state monitoring circuitry configured to: identify a first processor of the plurality of processors having at least one runtime state error; and state reload circuitry 106 coupled to the processors, the state reload circuitry configured to update a runtime state of the first processor based on one or more remaining processors of the plurality of processors. The update of the runtime state may involve loading a particular state of a second processor selected from the plurality of processors into the first processor. The reload circuitry may use a modified scan chain of the second processor to access its state and use a modified scan chain of the first processor to load the second processor state into the first processor. The runtime states may correspond to respective sub-systems of the processors, which may be safety sub-systems usable to determine whether autonomous driving is enabled.
