Summary: | The present invention relates to the field of radiation therapy and methods, software and systems for adaptive radiotherapy. An adaptive radiotherapy treatment method comprises receiving sequential measurement data relating to the treatment and captured at different time points, e.g. from real-time scanning or other sequential image data sets, mapping measurement data to a representation of a treatment geometry at the time points, using the representation in a dynamical model describing how variables in the representation evolve over time, e.g. a linear Gaussian state space model trained by machine learning, in order to estimate positions over time of the treatment geometry, and using the estimated positions to determine a radiation treatment action to be executed at a defined time point. Determining the treatment action may involve using an optimal control strategy to select or modify a treatment plan based on deviations between planned or desired and predicted or calculated dose levels and/or locations. |
