Summary:This invention relates to a system for generating hydroelectricity from the tides. The current tidal hydroelectric technology being used is completely limited to suitable geographic areas. Tidal barrages and lagoons are expensive to construct, use very large quantities of raw materials and energy and have detrimental environmental impact. They only generate roughly 40% of the capacity of the electric generator. The invention is suitable to be used on any ocean current and or coastal tidal including within harbours. An advantage is that relatively small amounts of materials are used in its construction. It has little or no environmental impact and is much less expensive to construct and deploy.
