Summary:An arrangement 110 for influencing liquid flow comprising a first section 1100 selectively configurable to provide a vortex generator surface 3100 to induce vortices in the liquid flow. A second section 2100 and the first section may move relative to one another. The first section may extend away or retract towards the second section. The second section may comprise a flow control surface, e.g. rudder, duct and/or rotor. A controller 112 may implement selective configuration of the vortex generator surface via actuator assembly 1104 in dependence upon a user command, sensor 114 input and/or environmental conditions. The first section may change shape of the arrangement to induce vortices. The first section may induce a plurality of periodic vortices in the fluid flow. The vortex generator may be a ring comprising a plurality of projections 3102, e.g. serrations and/or undulations. An aircraft and a watercraft comprising a duct arrangement are disclosed.
