Summary:A gaze tracking method using a first camera and a second camera, having a smaller field of view than the first. The first camera captures images of a user 1900 from which a location of the user's eye is identified 1910, the position and/or orientation of the second camera is modified in dependence upon the detected location of the user's eye 1920 so that the second camera is able to capture images of the user's eye and a gaze direction of the user is identified from images captured by the second camera 1930. An input may be generated based on the detected gaze direction 1940. The first and second cameras may be formed of a single unit, or the second camera may be affixed to a handheld object (e.g. a controller). An analogous gaze tracking method wherein first and second lenses within a single camera are switched between is also disclosed (Figure 20).
