Summary:A solvent supply (200) for a chromatographic separation system comprises a mobile phase drive and a separation unit. The mobile phase drive is suitable for driving a mobile phase through the separation unit and the separation unit is suitable for chromatographically separating compounds of a sample fluid in the mobile phase. The solvent supply (200) comprises a tubing (250) having a tubing end (260) configured to couple to a solvent container (220) in order to supply solvent contained in the solvent container (220) via the tubing (250) to the chromatography system (10, Fig 1). The tubing (250) is configured in a flexible manner in order to allow the tubing end (260) to be movable. A tubing arm (280) supports the tubing (250) in order to allow for positioning the tubing end (260) into a first resting position (290, 290'). The tubing end (260) is substantially held in position and distantly situated beyond a reference such as a solvent cabinet 210, the tubing 250 itself, or any other part of a high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) system or its environment in order to prevent physical contact to the reference. Advantageously the solvent supply can avoid physical contact of the tube with other components and avoid or reduce potential contamination of solvent.
