Summary:An airbag assembly 100 comprising an airbag 110 and a telescopic guide 120 for guiding deployment of the airbag 110. The airbag 110 may be a front airbag for extending over a windscreen of the vehicle; or a side curtain airbag for extending over an interior side wall of the vehicle. The airbag 110 and guide 120 can be slideably coupled at several positions along the length of the guide 120, thus allowing the airbag 110 to slide relative to the guide 120 as it inflates. An inflator 130 supplies gas for inflating the airbag 110, wherein the gas passes through a passage in, and causes extension of, the telescopic guide 120. Also provided is a vehicle 2 comprising the assembly 100, wherein the airbag 100 may be installed above the windscreen in or adjacent to a roof panel.
