Summary:An apparatus for proliferation of organic tissue by exposure to electromagnetic field has an electrostimulation device 101 containing one or more coils 103 and a unique identifier. A battery powered drive unit 102 supplies signals to the coils for applying a dosage of electromagnetic field to a target tissue region. The coil patch is customised to an individual patient and to an individual body portion and tissue region. The drive signal is individually tailored to the patch for delivering a dosage programme of electromagnetic field. The field strength is no more than 5 mT and the field is driven at a frequency of 5-8 Hz. Preferably, the field is less than 1 mT at 7.0-7.6 Hz and may be applied intermittently for several hours per day. The device may be a dental mouthguard. Also disclosed are: a drive unit able to store a set of signal data; an EM stimulation apparatus having a single port to receive the charging cable and signal cable such that they cannot be connected simultaneously; and methods of designing and manufacturing the stimulation device.
