Summary:A telecommunications network feature, such as a network slice, is configured on the basis of both terminal analytics data (TAD) from user equipment (UE) and network analytics data (NAD). The data may be combined in the Network Data Analytics Function (NWDAF). Analytics data may be acquired from the UE according to an event-based trigger based on the QoE, the average packet latency, the packet error rate or the average packet jitter. To enable TAD settings on the UE, the UE may exchange configuration update messages with the Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF). The NWDAF may subscribe to the AMF to be informed of all registration requests which include a TAD information element. The NWDAF may compare knowledge of past load levels for network slices to recorded QoE, determine times and locations where QoE drops significantly for UEs on a given slice, then create a new selection policy. The scheme may be used for intelligent slice selection in a 5G network.
