Summary:An electronic device has a first device housing and a second device housing. A hinge couples the first device housing to the second device housing, the first device housing pivotable about the hinge relative to the second device housing. The hinge has a cam, a first support plate pivotally coupled to a first side of the cam and extending distally into the first device housing from the first side of the cam, and a second support plate pivotally coupled to a second side of the cam and extending distally into the second device housing from the second side of the cam. Each of the first device housing and the second device housing define a support plate receiving recess comprising an inclined plane. A distal end of each of the first support plate and the second support plate travels along the inclined plane between a first position within the first device housing and the second device housing, respectively, to a second position within the first device housing and the second device housing, respectively, when the first device housing and the second device housing pivot about the hinge from an axially displaced open position to a closed position.
