An enteral dosing control coupling comprising a cylindrical collar defining a hollow internal chamber and a lumen extension tip 46 projecting axially into the internal chamber, the lumen extension tip defining an internal lumen extending therethrough. A coupling H substantially occupies the space between the collar and the lumen extension tip. The contacting surfaces are all smooth. The dimensions of the coupling and the lumen extension tip may be chosen such that little to no interference occurs between the two. Lugs may be provided outside the collar to latch the coupling in place.
