Summary:A method 500 comprising receiving 502 information identifying a plurality if inductive loops in the proximity of a vehicle, determining 504 a first inductive loop being approached by the vehicle, determining 506, 508 whether a current trajectory will activate the first inductive loop, and, if the current trajectory does not activate the first inductive loop, adjusting 510 the vehicles trajectory to enable activation. Information may be received identifying inductive loops along a planned route, and stopping the vehicle at a location that actives the loops. The location of the inductive loops may include their location with a turn lane, with the trajectory adjustment causing the vehicle to remain in the lane boundaries and pass over the inductive loop. A relative location of a detectable zone of the vehicle may be stored, wherein trajectory adjustment may ensure the detectable zone passes over the inductive loop. A test vehicle or simulations could be used to determine the detectable zones.
