A stator assembly

A stator assembly comprises at least one pair of c-shaped stator cores 32, 34, 36, 38. Each c-shaped core has a winding 33, 35, 37, 39, wound around a bobbin and the windings on each adjacent pair of c-shaped stator cores are wound in opposite directions, for example clockwise and counter-clockwise...

Summary:A stator assembly comprises at least one pair of c-shaped stator cores 32, 34, 36, 38. Each c-shaped core has a winding 33, 35, 37, 39, wound around a bobbin and the windings on each adjacent pair of c-shaped stator cores are wound in opposite directions, for example clockwise and counter-clockwise CW, CCW. An end of a first winding can be grouped to form an electric connection with the closest end of a second winding belonging to an adjacent core. Power can be provided to groups of connections using a terminal block having bridging terminals connecting diagonally opposing pairs of connections and mounted to a frame of the machine adjacent the c-shaped cores. There can be four c-shape cores and four groups of winding terminations. The stator assembly can be fixed to the frame, the c-shaped cores being individually mounted to the frame.
