Summary:An antenna housing assembly includes a first housing 300 enclosing an antenna 301 and defining a void 300a and a second housing 400 enclosing the first housing and defining a second void 400a. The antenna has a grounding plate 302. The assembly also includes a heating ring 303 with apertures or holes (501, fig 5) and resistive heating elements (heaters, 502a, fig 5). The heating elements may be positioned around the ring in locations not directly opposite to the apertures. The antenna and the grounding plate may be positioned above the level of the heating ring. The first housing may be a shark-fin shaped enclosure and the second housing may be cone shaped. A wiper blade driven by a motor and attached to the second housing may clear snow from the housing exterior (fig 6). A computing system may automatically turn on the wiper blade upon detecting precipitation via moisture sensors mounted on the vehicle or following weather reports downloaded from the Internet.
