Summary: | A photoplethysmogram (PPG) apparatus 12 comprises optical emitters 320, e.g. LEDs, for emitting radiation from a surface 112 of a casing and at least one photo sensor 322; wherein the emitters 320 and sensor(s) 322 define two measurement configurations (sets) 300, 302 such these sets provide different measurement channels; wherein the sets are at least partially different combinations of at least one emitter and at least one photo sensor; the sets 300, 302 each line symmetric with respect to an imaginary line 310 along the surface. Sets may be spatially so distant as to allow orthogonal measurements and may be multiplexed, e.g. in wavelength or time. An annular configuration of alternating sensors and emitters is disclosed. Sets may be activated based on motion profiles, e.g. sitting, moving, sleeping. Two physiological conditions can be measured concurrently. |
