Summary:A current sensor is disclosed which comprises: a body 6 with a reception space 5 suitable for a conductor 2 extending through it; two magnetic field sensors 14 and 15, preferably giant magneto-resistance (GMR) sensors, which are arranged in the body at different distances from the reception space; and a sensor controller 16 for combining the output of the sensors to provide an output signal 7 correlating to the conductor current. Also disclosed is a combination of at least three such current sensors (6, fig. 1) and at least three conductors (2, 3, 4, fig. 1), with a conductor extending through each sensor reception space. The combination also includes a main controller (8, fig. 1) which receives output signals from each current sensor, comprising calibration means (9, fig. 1) for correcting the output signals of the current sensors for interfering magnetic fields, possibly by multiplying the signals by a matrix of correction values. The combination may also include a circuit for interfacing with a protection relay.
