Summary:A method where in a video item 108d is presented for playback, receiving an indication of a touch gesture and if the touch gesture is a swipe gesture 216, 218, located within a portion of the user interface, and moving the playback of the video item from a first to second point in time by a predetermined amount of time if the gesture if a swipe gesture. The moving of the playback of the video may be either forwarding in response to a swipe right gesture, or rewinding of the playback on receipt of a swipe left gesture. A scrubber 210 may be provided to forward or rewind the playback and the video may be a full-frame rate video and displayed at or greater than 24fps. The swipe gesture may be determined to not originate from the edge of the user interface, in which case the next video item should be navigated to on receipt of a swipe left gesture, and the previous on receipt of a swipe right gesture.
