Summary: | An antenna for a personal electronic device with a conductive bezel 1501. The bezel 1501 is positioned on top of a housing 1503 for the device. The antenna has first 1502a and second 1502b radiating elements, consisting of elongate strips of conductive material, deposited on first and second sides of an elongate feed element 1502. The radiating elements 1502a,b are in proximity with an inner wall 1501b of the bezel 1501, so as to be mechanically or electromagnetically coupled to the bezel 1501, providing a circularly polarised signal. Therefore, the bezel 1501 forms part of the antenna system, and may function as a third radiating element. In an embodiment, the inner wall portion 1501b of the bezel 1501 extends between the radiating elements 1502a,b and a display unit 1506 of an electronic device, providing interference protection. The feed element 1502 may be supported by a printed circuit board 1509. |
