Summary:A marine vehicle 200 is configured to manoeuvre a streamer cleaning unit 205 through a body of water proximate a seismic streamer 104 submerged in the body of water. The marine vehicle then attaches the streamer cleaning unit to the submerged seismic streamer and detaches the streamer cleaning unit from the seismic streamer after one or more passes by the streamer cleaning unit over at least a portion of the seismic streamer. The marine vehicle then manoeuvres the streamer cleaning unit away from the seismic streamer. In an alternative embodiment, the marine vehicle features an interface unit configured to receive commands. Optionally, the manoeuvring of the marine vehicle is performed in response to commands from a remote vessel 105. Optionally, these commands are received via a tether 110. Optionally, the cleaning unit can be self-propelled. Optionally, the marine vehicle remains attached to the streamer cleaning unit during the one or more passes.
