Summary:An ultrasonic transducer with a piezoelectric element 10, featuring a printed circuit board 20 and a diaphragm pot 30. The piezoelectric element being attached to a front face 32 of the diaphragm pot, which is provided at a position situated remotely with respect to the printed circuit board 20 and the piezoelectric element 10 being connected to signal connection points 22 of the printed circuit board 20 via at least two leads 40, 42. Where the leads 40, 42 run with a spacing from one another that, over substantially the entire course of the leads 40, 42 is smaller than half the width of the piezoelectric element 10. Optionally, the signal connection points 22 of the printed circuit board 20 are provided on a portion 24 of the printed circuit board 20 that protrudes into the interior of the diaphragm pot 30. Optionally, the ultrasonic transducer can form part of a distance sensor, set up for attachment within a panel of a motor vehicle.
