Summary: | In a first claimed invention, a client 301 requests 304 a web page from a first server 302, which request may include a user information 305. The first server obtains a user ID 308, which may be based upon user information and may be anonymised. The first server returns 312 the web page along with a resource request 313 redirected to a second server 303, which include the user ID. The resource request is made to the second server and includes a browsing tracker (e.g. cookie). The second server then records an association between the server 1 user ID and the cookie in a database. An aggregated online history of user-webpage interactions across multiple servers and user IDs is thereby recorded. The aggregated history may be referenced to assist advertisement selection in a second claimed invention. |
