Summary:The user interface is provided by methods, system and apparatuses. The information displayed to a logged-in user is based on the users organisational role 102 which includes a set of responsibilities and privileges. What is displayed is based on object information, for an object in the process control system, and if that object information is qualifying information. The qualifying information is based on the users role. This provides a filtered graphic interface 210 based on if the object is qualified to be shown to that specific role. This can be used to provide different software applications, libraries, assets, data trees, and process information, to specific user to enable them to perform their job, while ensuring there is no cognitive overload from having to discern between relevant information for their job/task and unimportant data. Functions and data may be organised into layers and the layers mapped to user roles.
