Summary:A drive control system includes a energy storage unit 103 that stores power in a mobile unit, e.g. a railroad car, a drive unit 104 that drives the mobile unit in response to power supply from at least one of a power generator (102, fig 1), a catenary 1602 and the energy storage unit 103. An energy storage command unit 1140 controls a charging current value when power is stored in the energy storage unit 103 and determines a charging current limit value of the energy storage unit 103 according to a speed, sensed by a speed measuring unit 105,during braking of the mobile unit. A master controller 106 is controlled by an operator and outputs a driving command 150 to the drive unit 104 and the energy storage command unit 1104. A target stop and/or gradient is determined with reference to a database 1103. The drive control system provides an energy-saving effect which is obtained by setting a proper heat quantity in a certain time range according to the charging capacity of the energy storage unit 103.
