Summary:A sensor (27), which is provided to this screen printing apparatus, integrally move with a squeegee head, and is configured so as to cause a light projection part (27a) and a light-receiving part to face each other. The sensor (27) measures the one-dimensional size of a cross section of a solder cream (19), which is to be measured, at prescribed locations. Light from the light projection part (27a), which projects light on solder cream (19) that has been scraped up by a squeegee (16), is partially blocked by the solder cream (19), and the one-dimensional size is determined from the results of measuring the light received by the light-receiving part (27b). By treating the one-dimensional size as an index for calculating the remaining amount of solder cream (19) as the cross-section length of the paste, versatility and detection precision in detecting the remaining amount of solder cream (19) is ensured.
