Summary:The invention relates to a hand dryer (1 figure 1) for drying a user's hands by means of an airflow discharged through an air outlet (3, 5 figure 2) on the hand dryer. The airflow is generated by a motor-driven fan unit 9 and exits the fan unit through a fan outlet (41a figure 13) on the fan unit. The fan unit is mounted to a fixed part 45 of the hand dryer by means of an inflatable mount 43 which may be clamped at its lower end by means of a clamping ring 51 to the fixed part, and at an upper end by a cable tie (not shown) to the diffuser (37 figure 13). The mount incorporates at least one inflatable duct connecting the fan outlet to the air outlet. The duct is inflatable in use, and is inflated by the airflow passing from the fan outlet to the air outlet to provide pneumatic support for the fan unit which preferably sits on top of the inflatable mount. The duct may be manufactured from elastomeric material.
