Summary:The cable has at least two pairs of insulated wires 202a-202h. Each pair is covered by a wrapping of binder tape. Adjacent pairs are separated at their contact point(s) by a cushion layer 200 that does not wrap completely around the pairs or any one of the pairs. The cushioning layer or member 200 may be composed of a soft, pliable, non-conductive material such as foamed polyolefin, PTFE, expanded PTFE, PVC or cloth. Preferably the cushioning member 200 is provided as a tape. The cushioning member make take on various forms (figs 3, 4 & 5). The cable provides low variability in insertion loss or the ratio of input of voltage injected into the cable vs. output voltage. The cable also provides some resistance to impacts or shacks.
