METHODS, APPARATUS AND COMPUTER PROGRAMS FOR PHYSICAL LAYER TRANSMISSION AND/OR RECEPTION

A method for physical (PHY) layer transmission in a network equipment comprising receiving, from a higher layer, messages to be transmitted during a subframe on one or more control channels (e.g. E-PDCCH). The number of control channel elements (eCCEs) required (i.e. aggregation level) for each cont...

Summary:A method for physical (PHY) layer transmission in a network equipment comprising receiving, from a higher layer, messages to be transmitted during a subframe on one or more control channels (e.g. E-PDCCH). The number of control channel elements (eCCEs) required (i.e. aggregation level) for each control channel is determined. A plurality of physical resource blocks (PRBs) for transmitting the control channel are allocated. The PRBs are partitioned into one or more clusters. The interleaving depth (IDP) for each cluster is determined (wherein the interleaving depth is the number of PRB pairs over which the REs or eREGs of an eCCE are distributively mapped). Each eCCE is mapped to a cluster according to the IDP for that cluster. A transmission signal comprising the clusters is generated.
