Summary: | A digital photographing apparatus uses a face recognition function for obtaining an image in which faces are focused by setting autofocus areas in the recognized faces and photographing the faces in a bracket mode based on the set AF areas. The digital photographing apparatus includes a face recognition unit detecting face information from a real image (step 1003). The face information corresponds to faces in the image. An autofocus area setting unit sets focus areas based on the face information and assigning at least two focus areas to a focus area group (step 1007); and a control unit adjusts the focus of the focus area group. The camera can then capture images for the group(s) (step 1015). The spacing between eyebrows may be used to calculate the distance from the camera and a range finding unit may measure the distance between a face and the camera. |
