A Method of Producing a Pair of Virtual Sensors for an Engine
A method of producing a virtual sensor 115C; 115D for an engine 16 having a pair of interrelated variables in which first and second virtual sensors 110C, 112C; 110D, 112D having differing pairs of variables are produced. The values from the first and second virtual sensors 110C, 112C; 110D, 112D ar...

Summary: | A method of producing a virtual sensor 115C; 115D for an engine 16 having a pair of interrelated variables in which first and second virtual sensors 110C, 112C; 110D, 112D having differing pairs of variables are produced. The values from the first and second virtual sensors 110C, 112C; 110D, 112D are combined to produce a compensated sensor value for the subject matter of the sensor 115C; 115D. Each virtual sensor 110C, 112C; 110D, 112D is produced by selecting a predetermined number of speed and load combinations a first one of the variables is swept through its normal operating range while a second variable is held constant and so as to sweep through its normal operating range while capturing data forming the subject of the sensor 115C; 115D and repeating the process for predetermined operating levels throughout the normal operating range of the one of the variables. |
